Turn Back The Clock With Essential Oils

I never want to be 20 years old again....I mean I did look great in my 3/4 length hipster pants, hot pink boob tube and gold chain belt....but sitting comfortably in my skin as I approach 40 I feel much more at peace than I did when I was younger. But I would kill to have my fresh faced, glowy, taught, 20 year old skin back!!

Here are some gorgeous oils you can use on your skin to achieve the glow of a fresh faced 20 year old - no chain belt required!

1. Lavender Oil

Lavender oil can be used for a number of skin conditions, burn & cuts. It specifically targets skin repair including the healing state and improves cellular communication within your skin and this clever little beauty helps support your body to produce three of your bodies most powerful antioxidants – glutathione, catalase and superoxide dismutase. The production of these antioxidants helps successfully fight free radical damage which could otherwise lead to damage to your body including ageing your skin.

2. Frankincense Oil

Frankie is known as the king of oils for a reason! This amazing oil offers a wide range of skin healing properties, including reducing the appearance of sunspots and age spots, helps improve uneven colour and tone of your skin, and is great for strengthening nails & softening cuticles. Not only can frankincense help heal the skin, it also helps protect skin cells, including help reduce acne blemishes, large pores and wrinkles.

Studies have found remarkable results in showing how frankincense oil helps tone and lift skin, as well as reduce the appearances of scars and acne and heal wounds. It can also be used to help reduce stretch marks, scars and other marks associated with pregnancy, along with helping heal dry or cracked skin.

3. Geranium Oil.

Geranium oil is an effective anti-inflammatory.  It also helps to lighten age spots and even out overall skin tone.  Geranium oil also improves circulation under the skin’s surface which aids in cell regeneration, making it useful for fading scars, wrinkles, and other visible imperfections in the skin.

Used by the Egyptians for promoting beautiful and radiant skin, geranium oil is now used to treat acne, reduce inflammation, it may also be one of the best oils for such diverse dermatological problems as oily or congested skin, eczema, and dermatitis.

4. Helichrysum Oil

Helichrysum is known as immortalle or the fountain of youth, so you know its perfect for you skin care regime! The benefits of helichrysum essential oil are said to occur at a cellular level, restoring the cell structures that spread and thin with age. Due to its chemical makeup, helichrysum oil is characterized as a renewing essential oil, and is comprised of a chemical group called esters which are generally known to be calming, relaxing, and to have balancing effects on mood. Esters can also help reduce the appearance of blemishes when applied topically. It is also known as a "liquid bandaid." When applied to a bleeding cut/graze/nose bleed/popped pimple... it seems to stop the flow of blood, and the bleeding resides.

4. Jojoba Oil

An incredibly hydrating oil, containing many beneficial ingredients, including vitamin E, vitamin B complex, silicon, zinc, chromium and copper, it’s no wonder jojoba oil is such a powerful oil used to help heal the body.

Jojoba oil is remarkably similar to the sebum (the oily or waxy matter) that our skin glands secrete. It has the ability to keep our oil levels balanced. Jojoba Oil helps accelerate the wound-healing process and stimulates collagen synthesis. It doesn’t clog pores and is rich in iodine therefor naturally fights harmful bacteria growth that may otherwise lead to breakouts. Its low- toxic effects on the skin makes it ideal for those with sensitive skin, and the antioxidant contained in jojoba assist to smooth fine lines, wrinkles and naturally slow down other signs of ageing. All making it the perfect carrier oil when blending your own essential oils.

Here is Kobi's current favourite serum mixture to turn back the clock.....

ANTI AGING FACIAL SERUM:

  • 30 ml amber bottle with dropper
  • 30ml jojoba oil
  • 20 drops of frankincense
  • 10 drops of lavender
  • 5 drops of geranium

Here is Deonne's favourite anti-ageing/refreshing facial mist...

  • 30 ml amber bottle with atomiser 
  • 25 ml of water
  • 4 drops of Geranium
  • 4 drops of Helichrysum 
  • 4 drops of Frankincense
  • 4 drops of Patchouli
  • 4 drops of Lavender
  • 4 drops of Ylang Ylang

Combine & use nightly in your skin care regime.
