Our 100% natural soy wax candles are made in small batches are hand poured with love & good vibes in Geelong, Australia. Although every effort is made to ensure consistency, every candle has been individually handcrafted and there may be some variances. Our wax is 100% natural soy wax and therefore you may notice small blemishes on the side or surface of your candle. This is not a fault, simply a small blemish and does not impact on the quality or burn of the candle.
WHY SOY WAX? ARE YOUR CANDLES MADE WITH 100% SOY WAX?
Yes. maison saine candles use 100% soy wax - we do not blend with paraffin or other soy waxes. We love working with soy because it's a natural and non-toxic product. We love that it's a renewable resource and carbon neutral. It burns more cleanly - and better yet - for a longer period of time than paraffin. We love the way soy wax smells mixed with a good fragrance. We do not want toxic products in your home.
WHAT'S THE BEST WAY TO BURN MAISON SAINE CANDLES?
Our recommended burn time is 3-4 hours. Be sure to trim the wick to approx. 4mm before each lighting to prevent wick curling. As a safety precaution, never leave wick trimmings (matches or other debris, for that matter) in your candle jar!
Always allow the melt pool to reach the edges of the jar before extinguishing. Doing so not only allows for even burning, but prevents "tunneling" and wax from building along the sides of the jar, ensuring product quality and longevity! Never leave a candle unattended or in reach of children, pets or a draft. Allow the jar to cool completely before handling. Keep out of direct sunlight, this prevents damage and discolouration to wax.
DO YOU USE ESSENTIAL OILS IN YOUR CANDLES?
Our soy candles do include fragrance oils that contain components of essential oils, but we do not use straight essential oils. While we love essential oils, fragrance oils are better suited for use in candles, as the scent throw is stronger. Essential oils are volatile compounds, which makes it difficult to maintain consistency during production, as they're likely to change over time. Essential oils also tend to evaporate when they are burned because the flash point is so low.
ARE YOUR FRAGRANCES PHTHALATE FREE? WHAT IS A PHTHALATE??
All our fragrances are phthalate free. Phthalates are used to dissolve raw materials in apothecary goods, medicine and fragrances. Recently there has been concern linking high levels of phthalates to health issues, especially in children. While there are no regulations against phthalate use in candles, we decided not to work with fragrances with phthalates in them. The levels of phthalates typically found in a candle are not harmful to a consumer or manufacturer, but we decided that simpler is always better.
CAN THE JAR BE REPURPOSED?
Absolutely! When a little bit of wax remains, discontinue use of candle, pour out remaining wax & wick into the bin. Use soap and water to remove the wax residue. Repurposing our glass jars as small planters for succulents is one of the more popular uses, but we also love to use them to store pens, loose change and cotton balls - or just recycle!
Flat rate of $10 for all orders. We ship our items via Australia Post. Please allow 2-4 days for your item to arrive. May take a little longer during busy periods or to rural areas.
We provide local pick up from Geelong. Once you have placed your order and selected Local Pick-up option, our team will email you with a time in which you can collect your order.
Yay! We now provide international shipping to selected countries. This will also include tracking. Depending on the weight of your total order, for 0-500g it will be $30 AUD. More than 500g will be $45 AUD.

Once completion of checkout you will receive a confirmation email notifying you that we have received your order. Once we have packaged up your goodies you will receive an email notification of your shipping details.
Orders placed over the weekend or on public holidays will be processed the next business day.
After confirmation of order email you will then receive a shipping notification. Tracking number will be provided and you may enter it into the link provided, or you can directly check via Australia Posts website.
If you do not receive or collect your order within the notified time frame from Australia Post and it is returned, we will contact for re-delivery. This additional cost is required by the customer. If you do not wish to organise re-delivery, postage costs will not be refunded.
Please choose carefully as refunds are not normally provided where you have simply changed your mind or made a wrong selection. The decision to offer a change of mind refund will be made at our absolute discretion.
If return has been approved we recommend that you return the product via Registered post and that you pre pay all postage. You assume any risk of lost, theft or damaged goods during transit and therefore we advise you insure your parcel. maison saine will not be responsible for parcels lost or damaged in transit if you choose not to insure.
